What Operation Fairway Finder collects when you use this site, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.

Last updated October 15, 2026.

Who we are

Operation Fairway Finder is a free annual golf outing for veterans and active-duty service members, run by Fairways for Freedom, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Sacramento, California. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean Operation Fairway Finder and Fairways for Freedom, Inc., and "you" means anyone who visits operationff.com. Questions about this policy go to [email protected].

What we collect

What you send us. When you register for the outing, we collect your full name, email address, phone number, branch of service and shirt size. When you ask about a sponsorship, we collect your organization, your name, your email address and the level you are considering, plus your phone number and a message if you add them. When you contact us, we collect your name, your email address and your message, plus your phone number if you add it. When you call, text or email us, we receive your phone number or email address and whatever you include.

When you donate. Donations are made on Zeffy, our donation platform, not on this site. Zeffy collects your payment details under its own privacy policy and shares your name, contact details and gift with us so we can thank you.

Collected automatically. Like most websites, ours receives your IP address, browser and device type when you visit. Our forms store your IP address and browser details with each entry, which helps us block spam.

How we use it

  • To register you for the outing, have your apparel ready in your size, and contact you about the day.
  • To follow up on sponsorship inquiries and thank our sponsors and donors.
  • To answer your questions.
  • To keep the site and our forms secure and free of spam.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.

Who else handles it

We use a few trusted services to run the site and the outing. Each receives only what it needs:

  • Our web host, which stores the website and the entries sent through it.
  • Our email provider, which delivers your entries to us.
  • Google Sheets, where we keep the registration list for the outing.
  • Zeffy, which processes donations.
  • Google, for the map of Valley Hi Country Club on our homepage and the typefaces on our pages. When these load, Google receives your IP address, and the map may set cookies.

We may also share information when the law requires it, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.

Cookies

Cookies are small files your browser saves. We use them for:

  • Maps (Google), when the map on our homepage loads.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser's settings.

How long we keep it

We keep registrations, inquiries and messages for as long as we need them to run the outing, stay in touch with our sponsors and donors, and keep a record of our work. When we no longer need something, we delete it.

Your choices

You can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Email [email protected] and we will reply within 30 days. We may need to confirm it is you before we act, and we may keep what the law requires us to keep.

Security

We protect the site with HTTPS, keep WordPress and its plugins up to date, and limit who can see the entries you send us. No website can promise perfect security, but we take care of your information.

Children

This site is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, email [email protected] and we will delete it.

Changes to this privacy policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
